In-House Photometric Testing Laboratory
Horpol maintains its own in-house photometric laboratory to support product development, quality control, and the testing of its vehicle lighting products.
The laboratory allows Horpol to measure critical lighting characteristics throughout the development and manufacturing process using specialized photometric testing equipment.
Specialized Testing Equipment
Horpol's photometric laboratory includes:
-
Goniometric testing station — measures the luminous intensity and light distribution of vehicle lamps.
-
Colorimeter — measures the color characteristics of lamps and reflective devices.
-
Reflective device testing station — measures the coefficient of luminous intensity (CIL) of reflective products.
-
License plate light testing station — measures light intensity across the surface of an illuminated license plate.
-
Integrating photometric sphere — measures the total luminous flux produced by a lamp.
-
Spectroradiometer — measures light color and analyzes the spectral characteristics of the emitted light.
Quality Controlled From Development to Production
Having photometric testing capabilities in-house gives Horpol greater control over important stages of product development and manufacturing. Lighting performance can be measured and evaluated using specialized equipment as products move from design into production.
Combined with Horpol's certifications, product approvals, and more than 45 years of manufacturing experience, these testing capabilities demonstrate the company's commitment to producing dependable lighting for transportation and other demanding commercial applications.
