RoadLites Is Lighting Up the Trucking Industry and Taking Its Story on the Road
Share

A family rooted in trucking. A passion for safety. And a mission to bring innovative truck and trailer lighting directly to the people who use it.
That is the story behind RoadLites.
Founded by trucking company owners Angie Twardawa and Rafael Twardawa, RoadLites combines firsthand transportation experience with a fresh approach to commercial vehicle lighting. From LED outline marker lights to trailer reverse motion sensor lighting systems to work lamps and warning lights, the brand is bringing new lighting options to an industry the family knows from the inside.
And for the past two years, they have been taking that mission on the road—touring the United States, meeting fleets, visiting trucking companies, attending industry events and conferences, usand demonstrating RoadLites products where trucking happens.
Built by a Trucking Family, for the Trucking Industry
RoadLites’ origin story begins with a family whose lives have been shaped by trucks, drivers, and the demands of running a transportation business.
Angie and Rafael grew up with a truck-driving father, Andrew Twardawa. As owners of a trucking company for over 15 years, they went on to experience the industry from the business side as well: keeping equipment moving, supporting drivers, maintaining trailers, and making decisions that affect both safety and operations.
For them, trucking is personal. It is their family’s work, their livelihood, and a community they care about.
That perspective shapes RoadLites. The goal is to offer lighting that serves a practical purpose on working equipment while giving truck and trailer owners more choice in how their vehicles look.
Angie’s Safety Background Shapes the Mission
Alongside her experience as a trucking company owner, Angie brings a safety director background to RoadLites.
That experience informs the questions behind a lighting upgrade: Can another driver recognize the trailer’s edges? Is the installation suited to the equipment? Can a maintenance team service the connection? Does the added lighting preserve the function of required lamps? How does this affect roadside inspections? Regulations?
A product has to make sense beyond a photograph. It needs to fit the way commercial vehicles are operated, inspected, maintained, and repaired.
For RoadLites, visibility is a practical safety priority. The company’s passion for lighting starts with the people around the vehicle—the professional driver, the motorist approaching from behind, the worker in a loading yard, and the maintenance team keeping everything operational.
Bringing a New Lighting Perspective to American Equipment
RoadLites works with a Polish manufacturer to bring European-manufactured LED lighting to customers in North America.
European-style outline marker lights are a distinctive part of that offering. Their illuminated faces and stalk-mounted designs provide options for identifying vehicle edges while adding a recognizable look to a truck or trailer.
RoadLites’ product range also includes side marker lights, work lamps, and warning lights for different commercial applications. The focus is on matching the product to the job, with attention to mounting, wiring, connection choices, and the equipment’s existing lighting system.
The company is also developing additional functionality, including its patent-pending outline marker light turn signal module and reverse motion sensor lights for trailers. Designed for compatible lamps, the module adds supplemental turn indication alongside the trailer’s required turn signals.
It is one example of how RoadLites is working to expand what customers can do with their lighting installations.
Two Years on the Road—and a Tour Built Around Real Equipment
RoadLites has spent the past two years touring the United States and building connections across the trucking community.
The tour features two mobile demonstration vehicles:
- One mobile showroom truck, bringing RoadLites products directly to customers.
- One truck-and-semitrailer combination, demonstrating lighting, wiring, and safety products on full-size working equipment.
Together, these vehicles travel across North America to show RoadLites products in real-world applications.
The tour includes stops at fleet events, trucking companies, and industry gatherings. These visits give drivers, owners, safety directors, and maintenance teams an opportunity to see the products up close and discuss how an installation could work on their own equipment.
Why Take the Showroom to the Customer?
A website can show a lamp’s shape. An in-person demonstration can show its mounting position, cable arrangement, and relationship to the rest of the vehicle.
Seeing a product on a truck or semitrailer opens up practical conversations:
- Where would the lamp mount on this trailer?
- Which stalk design fits the available space?
- What connection option matches the equipment?
- How will the wiring be routed and protected?
- What can the driver or another road user see from different positions?
Those conversations matter to Angie and Rafael. They also give RoadLites an opportunity to hear directly from the people operating and maintaining commercial vehicles.
The tour brings the showroom to the industry and keeps the company close to its customers.
Safety, Style, and Pride in the Equipment
Truck owners care about how their equipment looks. Fleet teams care about dependable operation, visibility, and practical maintenance. RoadLites brings those interests together through lighting options that can serve a defined function and give equipment a distinctive appearance.
An outline lamp can add an illuminated reference point at a trailer corner. A work lamp can provide light for a task. A warning lamp can communicate an operating hazard when used appropriately.
Each product has its own role. Correct selection and installation remain essential, and supplemental lighting complements the vehicle’s required lighting equipment.
RoadLites’ approach is to help customers understand those options and choose an installation that suits their vehicle and application.
Still a Family Business. Still Passionate About Trucking.
Behind the showroom vehicles, product demonstrations, and new developments is a family that loves this industry.
Angie and Rafael understand the responsibility of owning a trucking company. Their father’s driving background connects them to life behind the wheel. Together, those experiences give RoadLites a personal reason to care about the equipment and the people around it.
That is what makes this story different: RoadLites is being built by people whose lives are already invested in trucking.
Every company visit and fleet event is another chance to share that passion, demonstrate the products, and learn from the community they serve.
