Your truck or trailer deserves lighting that works as hard as it does—and looks good doing it.

RoadLites™ LED end-outline marker lamps add illuminated reference points to the outer edges of your equipment. From a trailer’s rear corners to a commercial vehicle’s side profile, these lights help make its outline more recognizable in low-light conditions while adding a distinctive finishing touch.

Whether you are replacing a damaged lamp or upgrading your lighting setup, the right end-outline markers combine visibility, fit, and style.

What Are End-Outline Marker Lights?

End-outline marker lights mark selected outer edges of a vehicle. Also called outline lamps, contour lights, or stalk marker lights, they help nearby road users recognize vehicle width and position where the lamps are visible.

They are particularly useful to consider on equipment with prominent corners or a broad rear profile. Trucks, trailers, vans, agricultural equipment, and other commercial vehicles each have different mounting and electrical needs, so choosing a suitable model matters.

These lamps supplement the vehicle’s lighting setup. They do not replace required lamps, reflectors, safe following distances, or clearance checks.

Why Choose LED End-Outline Marker Lamps?

Visible Edge Reference Points

At night, a vehicle’s bodywork may be less noticeable than its lights. Appropriately positioned outline lamps add visible points near selected boundaries, helping define the equipment’s shape.

On a trailer, a pair near the lower rear corners can draw attention to that part of the rear profile, including the area around the ICC bumper.

Efficient LED Technology

LED lamps offer low power consumption and avoid the routine replacement of conventional filament bulbs. Actual output, power draw, and service life depend on the model and operating conditions.

Flexible Arm Designs

RoadLites offers models with flexible polymer stalk arms. Their flexibility allows the arm to bend when subjected to minor contact rather than behaving like a rigid extension.

That flexibility is a useful design feature for exposed mounting positions, but it does not make the lamp collision-proof or protect the trailer from an impact.

Weather Resistance for Working Equipment

Selected RoadLites models feature IP68-rated protection against dust and water. Check the individual lamp’s specifications and maintain properly sealed connections as part of the installation.

A Finish That Fits Your Rig

Choose a traditional look or explore Graphite smoked lens styles. Different arm lengths and lamp designs let you coordinate your lighting with the equipment’s appearance while selecting the functions you need.

Types of RoadLites End-Outline Marker Lamps

Short-arm lamps suit locations where space is limited and a compact installation is preferred.

Extended-arm or stalk lamps position the lamp head farther from its mounting point. The installation must still meet applicable clearance and projection limits.

Graphite smoked lens lamps offer a darker appearance when switched off. Emitted light colors remain model-specific, so always check the listing.

12/24V-compatible models offer options for equipment using either electrical system. Many American trucks and trailers use 12V, while some machinery and other commercial equipment uses 24V. Confirm your system rather than choosing voltage by vehicle size alone.

Where Should End-Outline Marker Lights Be Fitted?

Typical mounting locations include outer corners and suitable side or rear positions on trucks, trailers, and other commercial equipment.

Choose a location where the intended edge is identifiable, the correct lens faces the intended direction, and the fixture has safe clearance. Keep existing lights and reflective material unobstructed. For mounting near an ICC bumper, preserve the rear impact guard’s structural integrity and obtain manufacturer guidance before drilling or welding it.

Can They Project Three Inches Beyond Each Side?

Under the federal commercial vehicle dimensional rules in 23 CFR 658.16(b)(2)(ii), non-property-carrying devices or components extending no more than three inches beyond each side or the rear can be excluded from the measured vehicle dimensions.

This is a dimensional exclusion, not blanket approval of every light installation or every route. Measure the installed projection beyond the vehicle’s side—not simply the lamp’s full stalk length—and confirm applicable requirements for your equipment and operating routes.

How to Choose the Right Set

Before ordering, compare the mounting style, stalk length, overall dimensions, emitted colors, voltage, cable length, and connection type. Check whether the package contains a single lamp or a left-and-right set, and whether a harness is included.

An attractive lamp still needs to fit the equipment and the job. RoadLites offers different configurations, so use the individual product listing as your guide.
